We are mostly technology professionals who have experience with nonprofit organizations as leaders, staff, or volunteers. We have all agreed to work for lower rates so that we can make excellent solutions affordable for nonprofits. We would typically earn much more than our AssistOrg rates if we were working with private corporations. Everyone at AssistOrg believes that by donating time and effort to Open Source Software development and to nonprofit organizations - we will make the world a better place. It sounds hokey, but it's true.

Some of us will do this work full time. Others are only donating a limited number of hours while working a day job.

In working with nonprofits, we found that our biggest obstacle was always a lack of structure and design. Professional management is rarely part of the picture. We believe that design and management are crucial to creating efficient projects and preventing volunteer burnout. We understand the type of management that technology professionals require.

We want our organization to be sustainable, so our services aren't free. We are friendly to creating partnerships with multiple non-profit organizations to obtain grant funding for further Open Source Tool development and maintenance.
